Position: Team Leader I - 2nd shift

Job Summary

Lead and support the production environment through technical skills such as welding or assembly. Coordinate team job rotation, manage material flow, and ensure production goals are met.

Responsibilities
  • Act as safety champion and model safe behavior for the team.
  • Act as quality champion and demonstrate commitment to quality.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all team jobs and coordinate job rotation schedules to maintain a continuous one‑piece workflow.
  • Effectively communicate with associates at all levels, including material handlers, production leaders, and other team leaders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of operational excellence and complete all standard work required of a team leader.
  • Update MDI boards and maintain simple metrics and prioritization.
  • Recommend work schedules and coordinate workforce planning.
  • Perform job hazard assessments and simple EHS related tasks.
  • Develop and encourage team members to meet performance goals.
  • Improve the line through simple problem‑solving.
  • Support the manufacturing process through technical skill such as welding or assembly.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience influencing others.
  • Knowledge and application of Lean Principles.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to train others.
  • Good written and oral interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team focused and cooperative across teams and shifts.
  • Demonstrated sustained exemplary performance in attitude, attendance, and ability.
  • Knowledge of OPEX preferred.
  • Initiative and creativity in problem solving.
  • Promote a clear quality vision and continuous improvement in products, services, and processes.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Has not completed TLDP or another Leadership training course.
  • Must be able to promote continuous improvement efforts.
Physical Requirements
  • Tasks requiring hand and eye coordination, with good hand dexterity (gripping and pinching repetitively) for more than 2/3 of the work shift.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 10 lbs continuously, 25 lbs repetitively, and 50 lbs occasionally; lifting or carrying >50 lbs requires a two‑person lift or a lift assist.
  • Bend, twist, squat, kneel, or stoop repetitively 6–8 hours per day.
  • Reach overhead repetitively for more than 2/3 of the work shift.
  • Stand continuously for 8–10 hours per day.
  • Climb up and down stairs up to 3 hours per day.
  • Use senses to detect quality defects and unsafe conditions.
  • Basic visual requirements for precision work.
  • Moderate physical exertion required.
  • Role designated by the company as safety sensitive.
