Position: RN Radiation Oncology PRN – part of Memorial Health Meadows Hospital, a leading provider of healthcare services.
Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesMaintains the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and nursing department. Assigns nursing care to team members according to patient needs and personnel capabilities, and supervises and evaluates nursing care provided to patients. Assists team members in delivering patient care, or administers direct care when professional nursing skills and judgment are needed. Accepts responsibility for attitude, performance, behavior, and interpersonal relationships.
Promotes a cohesive team environment by reacting to patients, families, physicians, and co‑workers courteously. Manages conflict and problems constructively and participates in orientation of new personnel and maintenance of a clean and safe environment.
- Utilizes assessment skills to identify patient problems and determine nursing interventions, including biopsychosocial and educational needs.
- Recognizes changes in patients’ conditions and initiates appropriate action. Assesses patients during and after diagnostic procedures, documenting findings.
- Provides safe nursing care and a safe environment for patients and families.
- Conducts patient rounds during shift schedule ensuring appropriate safe care.
- Establishes patients’ plan of care based on medical/nursing diagnosis and admission profile.
- Initiates nursing orders for patient comfort and well‑being (e.g., oral care, turning, positioning). Transcribes and implements physician orders and documents all patient‑related information.
- Administers all medication accurately and safely within established guidelines.
- Administers IV fluids accurately and safely within nursing guidelines.
- Practices and adheres to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
No Travel Required.
