The jobsite located in Vidor, TX has an opening for a Welder Superintendent.

What You Will Do
  • Strong knowledge of welding/welds, procedures, and best practices
  • Lead multiple general foremen and crews
  • Assign job tasks to each general foreman and ensure proper training
  • Act as a safety role model for the team
  • Enforce OPD and client‑specific safety policies and procedures on the jobsite
  • Anticipate and recognize potential safety and environmental concerns and report them to the OPD Site Manager
  • Provide records of work completed to the OPD Site Manager
  • Communicate with the OPD Site Manager as required for material requirements and to schedule NDE for pipe and vessel welding
  • Coordinate with area GF’s

Some Physical Demands
  • Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations
  • Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs
  • Standing for extended periods of time up to 11 hours per day; breaks are given in 2.5 hour intervals
  • Using arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis
  • Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • At least 3–4 years of experience as a Superintendent
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Previous experience in a gas plant construction environment
  • Previous experience leading teams of 40–50 people
  • Must be a role model for safety
  • Travel is required with extended periods away from home in remote areas at times
  • Must be able to perform a pre‑employment drug screen and background check
  • Must be willing and able to attend and/or lead employee safety meetings
  • Must be able to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week
  • Must be able to meet all physical demands of the job
