Mechanical Coordinator position at the jobsite in Vidor, Texas.

Our Team Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is an engineering/construction company headquartered in Katy, TX with expertise in the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical industries. OPD is part of the Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) organization, providing a variety of capabilities across many industries. OPD was incorporated in 1980 and offers construction services as well as engineering/procurement, enabling a  one stop shop  for the overall project.

What You Will Do

Some core responsibilities for a Mechanical Coordinator include:

  • Acts as the lead Equipment Owner
  • Issues Work Permits in accordance with guidelines
  • Responsible for the safe execution of the work in the areas
  • Reviews all Work Notifications and/or Work Orders for accuracy, detail level, and priority
  • Identifies Emergency work and coordinates with the maintenance planner and Maintenance Area Manager to adjust the planned work schedule
  • Attends and co-leads the daily scheduling meetings and coordinates with planning & scheduling and maintenance activities to ensure a smooth daily work schedule

Some Physical Demands Of Being a Mechanical Coordinator
  • Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations
  • Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs
  • Standing for extended periods of time up to 11 hours per day with breaks every 2.5 hours
  • Moving the entire body with use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools
Basic Qualifications
  • Technical degree (2 year), or equivalent plant operations/maintenance experience
  • 3-5 years maintenance / operations experience
What Will Put You Ahead
  • 5+ years of experience working in industrial construction
  • Previous experience working in a new construction environment
  • Previous experience working in a coordinator role
