Optimus Steel LLC is seeking a Rolling Mill Utility Helper to support safe, efficient steel production at our Texas facility. In this hands-on role, you will assist operators with material handling, product flow, and basic equipment checks in a heavy industrial environment. Responsibilities include housekeeping, scrap removal, inspections, and following strict safety and quality procedures. You'll work in a teamwork-focused culture with opportunities to build technical skills, contribute to continuous improvement, and grow within a safety-first, high-performance mill operation.
Responsibilities
- Support rolling mill operations by assisting operators with material handling and equipment adjustments
- Perform basic equipment checks, cleaning, and housekeeping to maintain a safe, organized work area
- Monitor product flow, remove scrap, and ensure proper loading/unloading of materials
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and PPE requirements in a heavy industrial environment
- Communicate with team members and supervisors to report issues and support continuous improvement
- Assist with routine inspections and minor maintenance tasks as directed by maintenance or production leads
- Record production data and follow standard operating procedures to maintain quality standards
- Participate in training to build technical skills and advance within the mill operations team
