Tax Accountant, Tax Manager, Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager
This is one of those roles that suits someone who wants to feel progression without feeling overwhelmed. You would be joining a well-run CPA firm that is modern in how it operates, clear in its expectations, and realistic about how people actually grow in public accounting.
Clients come here for practical advice and consistency, not smoke and mirrors. That means you are not just churning returns in isolation. You see how tax, accounting, and compliance connect, and you build confidence by owning work properly rather than being shielded from it. If you are aiming for a manager and want a firm that makes that path obvious, this is a sensible next step.
The role:
This is a senior level position with a clear route into manager. If you are already close to manager level, or operating there in all but title, the scope can flex to reflect that. The firm is structured and organised, which makes it a good fit for someone who likes knowing what is expected and improving steadily over time.
What you will be doing:
- Preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns, mainly 1040s, 1120 S and 1065s
- Handling related compliance work such as 1099s and other annual filings
- Reviewing bookkeeping and supporting month end close where needed
- Working within defined workflows, deadlines, and review processes
- Flagging issues early and documenting work clearly
- Taking feedback on board and improving the quality of your work
- Gaining exposure to advisory work as your responsibilities grow
What success looks like here:
- You deliver accurate work across both individual and business clients
- You stay on top of deadlines
- You communicate clearly with colleagues and clients
- You understand how tax and accounting fit together rather than treating them as separate jobs
- You naturally take on more responsibility as trust builds
Who this role will suit:
- Someone with hands-on experience across individual and business tax
- Someone who wants to grow into a manager role, or is already nearly there
- Someone who learns best by doing real client work
- Someone who appreciates structure, clarity, and accountability
- Someone comfortable receiving feedback and acting on it
- Someone interested in advisory work over time, not forced too early
Technical background:
- Experience preparing individual and business tax returns
- Experience with professional tax software, currently CCH Axcess
- Working knowledge of Quick Books at the preparation or review level
- Strong organisation and documentation habits
- Comfort managing multiple deadlines in a professional services environment
This is a genuine manager track role. Progression is based on consistency, judgment, ability to review and delegate, and ownership of workflow. Responsibility grows with capability, not tenure. If you want a firm that is clear about how you move forward and fair in how it is assessed, this one is refreshingly straightforward.
