Responsibilities- Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, transit, rail, and environmental projects.
- Collaborate with other Inspectors, Construction Managers, Engineers, and Project Managers.
- Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision as needed.
- Serve as the most senior inspector on projects as needed.
- Read and interpret construction plans, shop drawings, specifications and contract documents, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.
- Track and maintain project materials documentation.
- Perform routine material testing on concrete, soils, and other materials as necessary.
- Provide guidance to less-experienced field staff as needed.
- Provide oversight to ensure quality control tasks are monitored and documented for contract compliance.
- Working outside during inclement weather conditions.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Technical school, associate or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management.
- Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle report.
- All client required Certifications.
- Proficiency with Plan Grid, Site Manager, AWP, and other project management software.
- Ability to interpret construction schedules and Primavera P6 experience.
- Preference given to local candidates
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years experience
- Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
(Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Baltimore, MD: $40.17 - $57.39/hr.;
Fulton, MD: $42.09 - $60.12/hr.;
Washington, DC: $45.91 - $65.59/hr.
