Organizational Background The Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization with its headquarters in Vienna, Austria is the international organization setting up the global verification system foreseen under the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT), which is the treaty banning any nuclear-weapon-test explosion or any other nuclear explosion. The Treaty provides for a global verification regime, including a network of 337 stations worldwide, a communications system, an international data centre and on-site inspections to monitor compliance.

This position is located in the Office of the Director, Legal and External Relations Division, LEG/OD.

Under the direct supervision of the Director, Legal and External Relations Division, LEG/OD, to:

• Support the implementation of the organization's digital communications efforts, including assisting in the development and execution of the digital communications strategy, with the overarching goal of increasing awareness of and international support for the objectives of the Treaty and the activities of the Preparatory Commission as well as audience engagement;
• Conceptualise and deliver a range of digital communications products, ensuring that digital content (e.g. videos, motion graphics, animations, photography, infographics, and interactive presentations) and campaigns are aligned with the Commission's strategic and public information objectives and effectively reach and engage target audiences;
• Use advanced analytic tools to analyse data and audience engagement across the CTBTO's digital and social media platforms (Facebook, X, Linked In, Instagram, and You Tube), and provide analytical inputs and recommendations on audience targeting, content optimization, posting schedules, and search engine optimization for the CTBTO external website;
• Maintain and further develop the CTBTO website, including coordinating technical updates and content changes with external contractors and vendors, as required;
• Collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure coherence in digital communications and to support the development of digital products;
• Monitor, evaluate and report on the results and impact of digital communications activities, including developments, trends and attitudes relevant to the PTS, and contribute data-driven inputs to support continuous improvement of digital communications;
• Monitor social media trends and emerging digital communications technologies and tools, as relevant to the organization's work;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• University degree in communications, journalism, international relations, or a related field is required;

• A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in public information, journalism, international relations, or related field is required;
• Experience in website and social media audience analysis and reporting is required;
• Experience in contributing to the development and implementation of digital communications strategies is required;
• Experience in search engine optimization for websites is required;
• Strong ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment is essential;
• Experience in monitoring and evaluating results of communications outreach activities is required;
• Experience in updating and managing content on Drupal-based websites is required;
• Experience working in a scientific or technical international organization and/or the field of non-proliferation and disarmament is desirable.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential;
• Knowledge of other official CTBTO languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is desirable.
