Overview

Purpose and Impact: Amentum is searching for a Top-Secret cleared Systems Engineer to join our team in Vienna, VA
. You will be working in an organization that’s mission is to accelerate operations through data and new analytical insights. The section leverages agile and provides enhanced reporting and global searching capabilities to facilitate task management, cross-utilization, and address national intelligence priorities while protecting confidential data and sources.

You will be part of a team that leads large-scale data analysis projects to design and deliver on-premises and cloud-based applications. The Systems Engineer will provide day-to-day support on network hardware and operating systems, including evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time, and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems. The Systems Engineer will troubleshoot at both physical and logical levels, working with network measurement hardware and software, and with hardware devices and communication protocols.

The Systems Engineer will perform systems management and integration functions, diagnose and resolve complex communication problems, ensure systems are current with approved patches, assist with certification and system accreditation tasks, and compose SOPs and Quick Reference guides for users. The Systems Engineer will advise on the selection of technological purchases related to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development, and provide advice on the feasibility of potential future projects to management.

Typically, Monday through Friday 8-hour days onsite. Flexibility within a 2-week pay period to reach 80 hours.

• Supervise, coordinate and/or design, develop and perform additions and changes to network hardware, infrastructure server environments, and operating systems, and attached devices, including investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software. Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
  
  Troubleshoot the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices at the logical level working with communication protocols.
• Participate in planning design, technical review and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks. Perform systems management and integration functions. Exhibit proficiency with virtualization technologies and network administration. Maintain network infrastructure standards including network communication protocols such as TCP/IP. Provide technical consultation, training and support for IT staff as designated by the government.

Develops strategy of client/server system and the design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy.
