Management Consulting Lead – Mid‑Atlantic Water Business Group
The successful candidate will be involved with all aspects of our Water Business Group program and will collaborate with and leverage HDR staff across the company and teaming partners to develop solutions for our clients. The primary duties of this position include pursuing, planning, managing, and delivering all aspects of utility management advisory projects that typically relate to Strategic Management and Planning;
Business Process Optimization;
Organizational Development;
Digital Advisory;
Equity, and Rates, Finance, and Funding.
- Actively lead our growing Mid‑Atlantic management consulting services.
- Collaborate with HDR technical leaders, operations leaders, market sector directors, project managers, and project teams to deliver world‑class quality services, project management services and construction services for projects and programs utilizing multiple delivery models.
- Actively engage with the local project teams and assist in Go/No‑Go discussions, project risk assessments, SOQs, proposals, interviews, and negotiations as required.
- Participate in client relationship management, client presentations, conference presentations, and interviews.
- Participate in scope, schedule, and budget development for projects.
- Provide project delivery support including planning, contract administration and management, technical consulting, design reviews, subcontract management and construction services.
- Actively participate in AWWA or WEF and related regional professional associations.
- Mentor and develop other employees.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
- 10 years of experience
- Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
- Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience
- Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
- Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must
- Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand
- BS degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or similar combination of relevant education and experience
- Master of Business Administration degree
- 15 years of water industry experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
- Strong leadership skills and project management experience with multiple national remote teams is preferred
- Proven experience managing projects, client relationships, proposal development, and business development related to Strategic Management and Planning;

Organizational Development;
Digital Advisory;
Equity, and Rates, Finance, and Funding - Self‑starter with excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong conceptual, organizational, problem solving, and collaboration skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and conferencing platforms (Zoom, Web Ex, Teams, etc.)
- Familiar with estimating and scheduling software, project management software
- Ability to interact with various design professionals, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
- Current AWWA or WEF and related regional professional association involvement
- Local candidates are preferred

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
(Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions. Temporary and part‑time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Fulton, MD: $162,855 - $232,650. Washington, DC: $177,660 - $253,800.
