Job Description

We are looking for a hands‑on VP of Accounting to own the financial operations of a multi‑entity professional services firm with operations across three continents. This is a high‑trust, highly visible role – you will be the primary finance contact for our external auditors, tax advisors, and banking relationships. As the global head of accounting and finance, you will work directly with the CEO and executive team to ensure sound financial management, reporting, and accounting.

This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys being close to the work – not just overseeing it – and who thrives in a lean, fast‑moving environment where initiative and ownership are valued.

Top 5 Responsibilities
  • Own accounting operations globally and drive financial reporting. Full ownership of accounting across the US, India, and Brazil – monthly close, financial statements, GAAP/IFRS compliance, and intercompany consolidations. Prepare and present monthly financial statements to the CEO. Develop and manage the global annual budget.
  • Oversee cash and operational finance. Own cash management, AR/AP, US multi‑state payroll, and oversight of India and Brazil accounting. Manage margins, utilization, and key operational KPIs.
  • Lead external relationships and review sales contracts and legal documents. Primary contact for external auditors, tax advisors, bankers, and lenders. Manage all deliverables. Responsible for legal review and contract management with clients and vendors.
  • Lead and develop the accounting, finance, HR, recruiting, and IT teams. Manage and mentor a few small teams across the US, India and Brazil. Build scalable processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with CEO and executive team to set and drive organization vision and strategy. Play a key role on the leadership team to help drive the business into new growth.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Own the full monthly and annual close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
    • Prepare and present monthly financial statements to the CEO
    • Develop and manage global annual budgets and rolling forecasts
    • Manage cash flow and maintain accurate cash projections
    • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable
    • Run project financial reports including utilization, realization, and gross margin by project/client
    • Analyze monthly operating costs and make recommendations to leadership
    • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings (US federal, state, and international), with the support of tax advisors in the US, Brazil, and India
    • Create ad‑hoc financial analyses as needed
    • Institute and manage benchmarks for financial and operational performance of the organization
    • Oversee and manage the annual audit including US, India, and Brazil operations
    • Ensure adherence to GAAP (US) and IFRS (India and Brazil)
    • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial reporting requirements
    • Manage international transfer pricing practices
    • Ensure proper intercompany invoicing and transactions with India and Brazil operations are accurate and timely
    • Oversee bank reconciliations and analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts
    • Serve as the primary contact and relationship owner for external auditors throughout the audit cycle
    • Interface with banks and lenders; ensure adherence to all banking covenants
    • Support review of customer and vendor contracts from a financial and risk perspective
    • Process and oversee US multi‑state payroll and benefits
    • Oversee India and Brazil payrolls in coordination with local teams
    • Ensure accuracy and compliance of all payroll tax filings
    • Lead, mentor, and develop several teams of professionals across the US, Brazil and India
