Massage Therapist

Description

• Administer different types of massages, including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, prenatal, and therapeutic massages tailored to individual client needs.
• Consult with clients to understand their physical conditions and stress‑related concerns, designing personalized massage programs accordingly.
• Create a comfortable and soothing atmosphere for clients during treatments, ensuring a safe and clean workspace.
• Assess client’s soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength and range of motion.
• Prepare, blend and heat oils and apply substances to members’ bodies as needed.
• Develop and propose client treatment plans.
• Maintain detailed and accurate treatment records for each client, tracking progress and any other noteworthy conditions.
• Complete necessary information to bill Member/Guest for massage therapy service.
• Coordinate and communicate scheduling with Fitness Desk Attendant(s).
• Communicate to Director of Fitness & Wellness about customers or massage operations concerns.

• Post‑secondary Vocational/Technical School.
• One year of experience as a Massage Therapist.
• Must have First Aid and CPR/AED training.
• Must have a valid State Massage Therapy License.
• Expertise in multiple massage modalities including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, hot and cold stone massage, acupressure and reflexology.
• Proficient knowledge of anatomy and physiology, excellent customer service skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Physical stamina to perform massages for multiple clients.
