Job Description & How to Apply Below
Ayesha, tell us a bit about your role. How do you serve your client day-to-day?

I work within a large financial organization in their IT department as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer. My work depends on the type of project I am assigned to and generally involves ensuring that whatever application I am working on performs the ways its expected to. The work can vary from actively testing the application, planning for the testing phase, representing SQA in various project related meetings, as well as assisting my team in the fulfillment of the project goals.

And

how did you get started with BRMi?

I was recommended internally for the position at the financial organization I referred to earlier and have been working for BRMi since June 2018.

What’s an exciting project you’re working on? What do you enjoy most about your role?

One of the projects I am working on involves a complete overhaul of a major application that is used throughout my client organization. I have previously worked on the application in its original state and this helps me in my current project because I can see the flaws. Being able to pinpoint the issue and present the problem from the perspective of a QA really fascinates me.

It involves thinking of various scenarios, some frankly bizarre ones, but ensuring that every single possible loophole or defect is covered is the highlight of my day. It has led me to have a very distinctive thought pattern, even when it involves something not work related.

Has your time with BRMi taught you anything?

The importance of collaboration. You are not a one-man team at BRMI as well as at my client. The beauty of a team allows various perspectives and unusual solutions to be put forward and that is what drives innovation.

Agreed! What’s on your desk?

Lots of post-its! I am a prodigious note writer and post-it’s allow me to note down things while in my turbo mode. I also have a desk clock, that was gifted to me by my alma mater’s president that I highly value. A lipstick for quick touch-ups before video calls and my trusty notebook.

How about a morning ritual?

I am an early bird. So, I definitely need my caffeine. I like to check my email first thing in the morning and then make sure that I am well-prepared for the meetings scheduled. My cup of coffee is my excuse for gossip and once that is over, its crunch time.

What’s your favorite place you’ve ever visited?

I was in Istanbul, Turkey for a 29 hours layover and it was the best mini-vacation ever. The food, the markets, the people and, of course the architecture were all amazing. Also, because it was for such a short time, it felt like everything was more intense. Definitely on my bucket list to visit again.

If you could pick up a new skill in an instant what would it be?

Being able to pick up languages rapidly. I love traveling and you can’t really immerse yourself in a different culture if you don’t know their language. So, if I could be a hyperpolyglot, that would be amazing!

Shazia, tell us a bit about your role. How do you serve your client day-to-day?

I am a Quality Assurance Specialist in a large financial institution. Being a QA specialist, I ensure that I am representing BRMi to the client with a positive attitude and exceptional services. This involves a thorough understanding of the project that the client assigns me to and working with the team. The high visibility projects have deadlines and priories with tons of dependencies and communication at all levels.

So, every day brings a new challenge but I enjoy accomplishing the tasks.

And how did you get started with BRMi?

I was actively looking for a new role and that’s when [BRMi Recruiting Manager] Rich Kruger reached out to me. After the interview, I was selected and joined the BRMi team in March 2017.

What’s an exciting project you’re working on? What do you enjoy most about your role?

I have been and continue to be assigned to challenging and high-visibility projects. The most interesting part is the challenging work I’m presented with which keeps me constantly motivated to self improve.

Has your time with BRMi taught you anything?

Communication, constant motivation, and team work. Also,…
