IT Project Manager
Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Digital Project Manager to support complex retail energy system initiatives for a major utility in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. This role leads cross‑functional, multi‑workstream technology projects that support retail energy operations and enterprise systems.
This position prefers a hybrid work arrangement
, with the ability to work onsite at the Tysons, VA location up to three (3) days per week
. Remote candidates will be considered provided they are willing to travel approximately 20–25% as needed for project and stakeholder engagements.
The ideal candidate is results‑driven, highly organized, and experienced in leading large‑scale digital initiatives within a matrixed, regulated environment.
Responsibilities- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex digital projects, from planning through implementation and close‑out
- Define scope, timelines, budgets, and success metrics in partnership with business and IT stakeholders
- Manage project execution, risks, dependencies, and governance using enterprise project management tools
- Provide clear, concise status reporting to stakeholders and leadership
- Coordinate vendors, contracts, and third‑party dependencies
- Oversee testing, deployment readiness, and post‑implementation reviews
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and corporate standards
- Build alignment across cross‑functional business and technical teams
- 5+ years of IT project management experience delivering complex, multi‑workstream initiatives
- Proven experience supporting Retail Energy systems
, including EDI, billing/CIS, pricing, supply & scheduling, sales/CRM, contracts, and regulatory operations - Experience working in matrixed environments with multiple vendors and third‑party providers
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project and common collaboration and reporting tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project management certifications (PMP, PMI‑ACP, or equivalent)
- Experience in regulated utilities or energy markets
