DATA MINING ANALYST

This project requires the collection and reporting of data to produce leads for actionable investigative reports predicated upon data research of government and commercial data systems to verify status of potential violators. The reports produced are automated and disseminated to the government client. You will perform data entry from multiple client systems, other intelligence sources, and law enforcement databases and generate an analysis of the collected information.
You will input collected information into a database and produce summary products in support of Homeland Security Law Enforcement.
- Act as a liaison between the Government client and the technical staff to provide accurate and timely reporting of statistics.
- Conduct statistical analysis on data to ensure correct predictive forecasting or classification.
- Manage all aspects of end-to-end data processing utilizing customized report-building functions of systems.
- Understand the process of building reports (leads).
- Evaluate and optimize database needs using Mongo
DB and Python. - Research, develop, and test queries using Mongo
DB and Python data analytic tools. - Analyze, query, and extract data from Mongo & Python databases for client ad-hoc requests.
- Utilize Big Data tools such as Mongo
DB, Python, JavaScript, No
SQL, and Power
BI. - Conduct trend analysis.
- Evaluate statistical methods and advanced technical research techniques to develop client-based strategies.
- Analyze data integrity and consistency to obtain quantitative basis for decision making and resource allocation.
- Develop strategies to exploit various internal and external data sources to refine the intelligence analysis process.
- Provide written reports as required.
- Maintain proficiency in MS Access and Excel.
- Assimilate, integrate, and interface technical knowledge with business and systems requirements.
- Create high-level reports for client and upper-level DHS.
- Monitor report requests and provide end-user support to internal and external clients.
- Complete quality projects timely and accurately.
- Analyze current and potential systems for conversions.
- Conduct analytical research in support of assigned Criminal Investigative Mission.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in any discipline.
- Two (2) or more years of related experience in analysis of bulk data sets, including entry and extraction of target data, statistical analyses, and reporting.
- Core understanding and experience in navigating and writing queries using JSON, SQL, Python, and/or JavaScript to extract data from No
SQL databases. - Experience with big data sets and strong grasp of coding principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of Mongo
DB and Python, and working in the backend of various databases. - Team player who is a quick learner, asks questions, takes initiative, and produces accurate work.
- Proactive, learns and understands customer SOPs, and completes tasks with no errors.
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- U.S. citizenship required.
M-F, generally 8-hour workday aligned with core hours of 8AM to 4PM, though hours may float between 6AM – 10PM depending on mission requirements.
