Zero Trust Security Analyst
Join a high-impact cybersecurity initiative focused on advancing Zero Trust architecture across a complex enterprise environment. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy deep analysis, investigating security configurations, and influencing how modern access controls are designed. You will play a critical role in evaluating existing environments, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping shape secure, scalable Zero Trust policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing network security rules, firewall configurations, and access controls to determine reuse within Zero Trust frameworks
- Evaluate identity sources (AD, Entra , RBAC, IGA) to identify scalable, least-privilege access models
- Assess application access patterns (web, APIs, databases, internal services) to define appropriate trust boundaries
- Identify gaps, redundancies, and overly permissive access that require remediation
- Determine whether existing controls can be leveraged or require redesign for Zero Trust enforcement
- Document and define new security objects such as user groups, address groups, and application definitions
- Produce clear, structured analysis outlining current state, reuse opportunities, and required enhancements
- Partner closely with engineering, IAM, and security teams to support application onboarding and policy design
- Ensure traceability across applications, identities, and security controls for audit readiness
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of network security fundamentals (firewalls, zones, L4/L7 rules)
- Experience analyzing enterprise firewall rule sets (Palo Alto or similar)
- Familiarity with identity and access management concepts (AD, Entra , RBAC)
- Ability to interpret complex technical configurations and translate them into actionable insights
- Strong documentation and analytical skills
Preferred:
- Experience with Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) or user-based firewall policies
- Exposure to IAM, IGA, or identity governance tools
- Familiarity with CMDBs, application mapping, or onboarding workflows
- Experience supporting security audits or assessments
Compensation and Benefits:
The pay rate for this position is between $55.00 and $68.09 per hour. Please note that the final rate may be contingent on experience and other factors.
