Middleburg is a vertically integrated real estate investment, development, construction, and management company creating high-quality rental communities in the highest-growth markets in the United States. We support 250+ employees across three corporate offices, roughly 20 apartment communities, and active construction sites.
The Technology Operations Administrator owns the day-to-day execution of technology operations for our people and our locations — devices, hardware, connected technology, asset records, and vendor coordination. If an employee needs working equipment on day one, if a leasing office needs its technology documented and functioning, or if a new community needs technology in place, this role makes it happen.
This is a hands-on execution role. The Chief Technology Officer sets technical direction, standards, and platform decisions, and will be directly involved in coaching you and developing your technical range. You own carrying those standards out consistently and improving the processes around them. You will also partner with our accounting group on asset records, purchase requests, and allocating technology and telecom costs across business units and properties.
An outside support partner (a managed services provider) handles first-line ticketing and support, and you will be our day-to-day coordinator with them.
We are looking for someone with solid technical fundamentals who shows up ready to work and learn, takes personal ownership of outcomes, and is genuinely bothered by processes that are messier than they need to be. Just as important, we are looking for someone people are glad to see walk through the door. Much of this job happens face to face — at a leasing office, on a job site, at someone’s desk — often with a person who is frustrated and behind on their day.
Patience, a friendly manner, and the ability to explain things without making anyone feel foolish matter as much here as technical skill.
Devices and Endpoints (the core of this role)
- Own the lifecycle of company-issued technology: configuration, deployment, maintenance, repair, refresh, and retirement
- Perform hands-on hardware work — upgrades, component replacement, imaging, peripheral and workstation setup
- Administer user accounts, group membership, and access within defined boundaries and approval processes
- Work with our support partner to keep devices current on patching, updates, and security agent compliance
- Maintain conference room, presentation, and shared-office technology in reliable working order
- Onboarding and offboarding —Partner with People & Culture and hiring managers so every new team member has working equipment, accounts, and access on day one, and execute transfers and departures completely and on schedule: device recovery, account deactivation, access removal, no gaps
- Team Member support —Be a responsive, patient, and genuinely helpful resource for technology questions from every location; provide attentive support for leadership, firm meetings, and events; build simple, usable how-to and onboarding materials
- Asset records —Maintain a trustworthy inventory of all technology assets — who has what, where it is, and where it sits in its lifecycle — including tagging, periodic physical audits, and reporting (we have a platform in place that you will be trained on)
- Procurement —Prepare purchase requests, quotes, and orders for approval; coordinate delivery, warranty claims, and returns
- Cellular and connected devices —Administer service plans and connected device programs: activations, transfers, renewals, plan changes, and usage review
- Spend and allocation —Track licensing counts, subscriptions, and renewal dates; support monthly allocation of technology and telecom costs across business units and properties; reconcile invoices against records; surface savings such as unused licenses, redundant services, and plan optimization
- Vendor coordination —Serve as day-to-day coordinator with our support partner and with hardware, carrier, and service vendors; drive tickets and escalations to closure and…
