Sr. Electrician

What This Job Involves

The Sr Electrician will perform and/or direct various Electrical installations and preventive maintenance and repairs at a client’s site. This will include hands-on work to complete the necessary work within all JLL and client standards and guidelines.

• Monitors operation, adjusts, and maintains refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, and ventilating and hot water heaters; pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment
• Record readings and make adjustments where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment
• Analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required
• Assist with the installation and repair of plumbing/piping/tubing; wire single and three phase motors (single & two speed)
• Run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc.
• Install and rebuild pumps and motors;
  Install and rebuild air compressors, and heat exchangers
• Replace bearings in all types of motors; replace seals on pumps; install and repair piping, valves, filters, hot water systems and associated controls
• Assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment
• Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace
• Assist team members with troubleshooting and escalating issues
• Train new team members
• Any and all other duties and tasks assigned

• High School diploma, state equivalent, or GED equivalent. Completion of Trade School/Vocational Schooling preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experience, preferred
• Electrical License
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Team player – works well with others
• Able to regularly lift items up to 50 lbs
• Physically able to operate electric hand tools, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment, and operate a motor vehicle
• Able to work in confined spaces such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc.
• Able to work on a ladder up to 28’
• Able to work on roofs of buildings – able to safely perform overhead work while standing on a ladder
• Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to bend, kneel, squat, reach and lay as required to access equipment components for extended periods of time
