Hybrid Software Reverse Engineer; hold TS​/SCI clearance Polygraph

Overview

This is a forensic software development and reverse engineering position combined into one. The candidate will focus on conducting software reverse engineering activities using a combination of static and dynamic tools. Additionally, the candidate will provide application development, scripting, debugging, and value‑added software development expertise to a digital forensic lab, while maintaining existing software and developing new software to customer specifications.

Northern VA. Remote work is not an option. Relocation assistance is available.

Conduct software reverse engineering activities using static and dynamic tools. Provide support in application development, scripting, debugging, and software development activities. Maintain existing software and develop new software to customer specifications for a digital forensic lab.

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must hold a US government security clearance at the TS/SCI level with Polygraph.
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics, or be within 12 months of graduating.
• Must be able to read and understand assembly code (x86 and x64).
• Must be proficient in one of the following: C, C++, C#, Java, or Python.
• Must be familiar with both high‑level (e.g., Java) and low‑level (e.g., C/C++ or Assembly) programming languages.
• Must be willing to become 8570 compliant at Level II or higher if not already certified.
• Excellent customer service, communication skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills for effective collaboration.

• Experience in computer engineering or related field with in‑depth knowledge of software reverse engineering and/or software development.
• Experience using static analysis tools such as IDA Pro and dynamic analysis tools including debuggers.
• Proficiency in developing for IDA Pro.
• Experience with reversing ARM.
• Proficiency in Android/Linux OS internals.
• Familiarity with EnCase, FTK, or other forensic software tools.
• SANS certification.
• Certifications such as Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, GCED, GCIH.
• Experience with malware analysis.

The hourly wage range is $43.27 – $108.17 per hour. Salary is based on skills, education, experience, location, clearance, and contract.

As a federal contractor, required vaccinations per federal, state, and local law will apply.
