Reporting to the Director of Advising and Retention in the Division of Student Services, the Student Experience Advocate serves as the welcoming, front-line point of contact for students and visitors. The position provides exceptional customer service, responds to general student questions, and assists students with Admissions, FAFSA and Financial Aid, Advising, Accessibility, Wellness, and other Student Services needs. The Student Experience Advocate serves as an initial point of contact and provides effective triage by identifying student needs, providing basic assistance, and connecting students with the appropriate office, staff member, or campus resource.

Through these efforts, the position helps remove barriers and supports student enrollment, engagement, persistence, retention, and completion.

• Serve as the first point of contact for students visiting Student Services.
• Answer the main college phone line and direct calls, questions, and students to the appropriate office or staff member.
• Assist students with FAFSA completion and basic financial aid questions as needed.
• Assist prospective students with admissions application completion and general enrollment questions.
• Check students in for appointments with Advising, Financial Aid, Admissions, Registrar, Care Center, and other Student Services areas.
• Provide general information about campus programs, services, resources, and processes.
• Help students navigate Student Services and make appropriate referrals or warm handoffs when additional assistance is needed.
• Provide general assistance with forms, paperwork, and other routine student needs.
• Provide student success workshops and informational sessions as needed on topics such as navigating college, financial aid, enrollment processes, and available student resources.
• Support outreach and follow-up efforts designed to remove barriers and help students remain engaged and enrolled.
• Manage and develop Student Services work study student employees.
• Assist with initiatives focused on student persistence, retention, and completion.
• Provide a welcoming, accessible, and student-centered experience that helps students feel connected to the College and confident in navigating their educational journey.
• Serve as an active member of the Student Services team.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Associate degree in education, student services, business, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in higher education preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage detailed records, interpret policies, and maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, student information systems/databases, and other technology.
• Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
