The CCSD Unit at Raleigh General Hospital provides specialized intermediate‑level care for patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing support following critical illness, cardiac events, surgical procedures, or complex medical conditions. This fast‑paced unit bridges the gap between intensive care and medical‑surgical services, caring for patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and other high‑acuity diagnoses. Nurses on the unit are skilled in cardiac monitoring, post‑procedural care, telemetry interpretation, medication management, and patient/family education.
HowYou'll Contribute
- Perform accurate and thorough patient assessments and identify patient needs.
- Initiate appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.
- Provide age‑ and condition‑appropriate nursing care.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record.
- Develop, implement, and revise interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
- Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
- One year of experience preferred.
- ASLS certification preferred.
