Transportation District​/Division Supply Specialist - Wood

Keep West Virginia moving! The West Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking a detail-oriented, multi-talented District/Division Supply Specialist to manage parts, procurement and warehouse operations for our equipment shop fleet. From mowers and end loaders to dump trucks and snowplows, you will play a critical role in keeping our stat’s essential machinery fully operational. This position will report to the District Equipment Shop in Parkersburg, WV.

Identify, source and purchase high-quality replacement parts for a wide variety of equipment, including mowers, loaders, WVDOT vehicles, heavy and medium-size equipment and plows to name a few. Manager District warehouse stock, conduct inventory audits, and accurately input data, process orders, and track requisitions using the WVOASIS system. Safely operate a fork-lift to unload freight, load service vehicles, store heavy machinery components, and organize warehouse inventory.

Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, unpack supplies, match packing slips against purchase orders, and resolve vendor discrepancies. Maintain clear, professional communication with mechanics, shop managers, state personnel and external parts suppliers to ensure timely delivery. Performs related work as required.

High school diploma or the equivalent.

Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a clerical capacity in connection with storeroom or warehouse operations, such as a stock clerk, inventory work, or handling materials; and/or experience in business operations such as bookkeeping, accounting, timekeeping, and purchasing.

Substitution:
Successful completion of coursework from a regionally accredited college or university, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted for four (4) years of the required experience through an established formula.
