Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager

Our client, a well-established and growing organization in the Chicagoland area, is seeking an Accountant to join their finance and accounting team. This role offers strong visibility across the organization and the opportunity to contribute to key accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives within a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in general accounting, month-end close activities, reconciliations, and ERP systems experience. Candidates who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy cross-functional collaboration are encouraged to apply.

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
• Analyze financial data and support accurate financial reporting
• Support inventory accounting, costing analysis, and operational accounting functions
• Assist with lease/fleet accounting activities and related reporting
• Identify process improvement opportunities and help enhance accounting procedures and internal controls
• Collaborate with operations and finance leadership on forecasting and ad hoc reporting requests
• Prepare audit support schedules and assist with external audit requests
  
  Review accounting transactions for accuracy and compliance with GAAP
• Participate in ERP/system-related accounting initiatives and process enhancements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 4+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Experience with month-end close and reconciliations required
• ERP system experience required;
  Oracle and/or Net Suite experience preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Experience with in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, service operations, or other operationally focused environments is highly preferred.
