MUST HAVE Skills &

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction, engineering, real estate, or project based environments
• Understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with job costing, project accounting, or construction accounting preferred
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups
• Experience working within ERP or accounting systems

Job Description:

• Manage project accounting activities for multiple active construction projects
• Review project budgets, job costs, commitments, and change orders for accuracy
• Monitor project cost performance and assist with variance analysis
• Prepare and post journal entries and support month end and year end close processes
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and balance sheet accounts
• Assist with revenue recognition and percentage of completion accounting
• Track project billings, subcontractor pay applications, and retainage balances
• Partner with project managers and operations teams to review project financials
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
• Prepare financial reports, project profitability reports, and ad hoc analyses
• Assist with audit requests and documentation preparation
• Support process improvements and accounting system initiatives
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakbrook Terrace, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
