We're looking for a Diesel Mechanic Trainer who will be responsible for training customer and Trans Chicago technicians on Class 5-8 equipment, diagnostics, and safety. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, certified technician who’s passionate about teaching others and sharing their expertise in a hands-on, high-impact way.
- Conduct training courses for both
Trans
Chicago technicians and technicians from other Freightliner dealers and Trans Chicago customers. - Partner with Service Managers and customers to understand training needs and align programs with business goals.
- Organize, develop, or source training programs to improve course content to meet evolving technical standards.
- Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, and on-the-job coaching.
- Provide constructive feedback and evaluations for participants and management.
- Attend continuing education coursesto learn about new products and repair/diagnostic techniques.
- Represent Trans Chicago at industry events and career fairs.
- Maintain in-house training facilities and equipment as needed.
Required Experience:
- High school diplomaor GED required.
- Expert Certification on Freightliner, M2, Detroit required.
- ASE Master Certification preferred.
- 1 year of related or industry experience required.
- 5 years of Dealership experience preferred.
- 2 years as a trainer with presentation of curriculum in a classroom setting preferred.
- Compensation: $70,000-$95,000. Compensation will be determined based on experience, competencies, certifications, and education.
