Special Education Teacher, Middle School, Special Needs / Learning Disabilities
Make an impact supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher in a contract position for the school year. This is an exciting opportunity for educators passionate about fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Work alongside dedicated professionals, including school RNs, to meet the diverse needs of your students and support their academic and personal growth.
In this role, youll manage a middle school classroom, developing and adapting individualized education plans (IEPs), delivering differentiated instruction, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Your creativity and compassion will shape each learners educational experience and help promote a positive school culture.
Qualifications &Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education (or related field)
- Valid special education teaching certification or appropriate state licensure
- Experience working with middle school students and diverse learning needs
- Ability to create and implement effective IEPs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, families, and students
- Comfort working alongside RNs and related support staff
- Design and deliver tailored instruction in alignment with IEP goals
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general educators, RNs, and support personnel to meet students academic, behavioral, and medical needs
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to ensure strong home-school partnerships
