Senior Engineer, Distribution Capacity Planning

Exelon seeks a Senior Engineer, Distribution Capacity Planning to drive reliable, resilient, and future-ready electric distribution systems. In this role, you will lead complex capacity studies, analyze load growth and system constraints, and develop data-driven plans for grid upgrades and reinforcements. You will use advanced modeling tools to evaluate reliability and integrate distributed energy resources, while collaborating with engineering, operations, and regulatory teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead distribution capacity planning studies to ensure reliable electric service across Exelon's grid
• Analyze load growth, system constraints, and asset performance to forecast capacity needs
• Develop and evaluate alternative system upgrade and reinforcement plans
• Use power system modeling tools to simulate distribution network performance and reliability
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and regulatory teams on project scope and priorities
• Prepare technical reports, planning documents, and presentations for leadership and stakeholders
• Support grid modernization, DER integration, and resilience initiatives
• Ensure plans comply with reliability standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and analysts
• Continuously improve planning methodologies, data quality, and analytical tools
