Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at Walmart local retail store. The role supports and oversees repairs on Walmart’s refrigeration HVAC equipment, using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills as well as hand, digital, and power tools.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets.
• Use the work order management system to receive, document, and complete repair work orders for store and associate support.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training and safety requirements for equipment and tools.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart’s refrigeration HVAC safety policies and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights.

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid, state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and at least 2 years of mechanical maintenance or construction‑related experience for commercial HVAC/R and building controls, or 4 years of experience in a related field.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.
