Job SummaryThe Estimator performs estimation functions for Sentry products, ensuring accurate and timely drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for internal and external customers. The role utilizes software and tools to produce detailed projects that support sales, manufacturing, and installation operations.
Core Functions- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions to produce accurate designs and estimates.
- Develop and maintain detailed cut lists, bills of materials, construction details, and project drawings.
- Provide sales teams with precise cost estimates and supporting documentation to fulfill customer requests.
- Ensure all project deliverables meet established accuracy, quality, and timeliness standards.
- Learn and apply required software systems to complete estimating tasks.
- Enter orders for projects into ERP system.
- Collaborate effectively with internal departments and external customers while upholding company values and professionalism.
- Prepare and deliver project updates, progress reports, and analysis as requested.
- Demonstrates initiative and customer focus by proactively responding to internal and external requests within established service‑level expectations.
- Completes drawings, take‑offs, and estimates with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness to support sales and installation.
- Maintains quality and accuracy while meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Prioritizes multiple projects effectively and delegates tasks appropriately to ensure timely completion.
- Produces clear, precise, and professional written communications and delivers concise verbal updates to stakeholders.
- Identifies design or estimation discrepancies early and implements corrective actions within defined time frames.
- Collaborates effectively across departments, demonstrating accountability for individual and shared deliverables while supporting a positive team environment.

- Associate degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in computer‑aided drafting and detailing.
- Vocational or technical degree in construction technology, or a related field.
- Knowledge of construction methods and materials, with experience in building systems or pre‑engineered metal buildings.
- One to five years of related experience, including machine troubleshooting or equivalent estimating experience.
Work is primarily performed in an office environment using standard office equipment. The role is sedentary with occasional lifting of office supplies up to 25 pounds. Minimal exposure to noise or temperature variations.
TravelThis position may require up to 5% travel for client visits, training, or industry events. Travel requirements may change and are not considered a fixed expectation.
