Summary:The Quality Assurance / Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the workflow of Quality Inspectors and Cycle Counters. This role ensures the timely and effective implementation of company policies and oversees activities related to verifying that all products received comply with Hillman requirements. The position also maintains system integrity and control over lost inventory, inventory adjustments, Excess & Obsolete (E&O), system-triggered cycle counts, and warehouse cycle counting processes.
He or She should possess strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills and be able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment. The supervisor must be knowledgeable in inbound, in-process, and outbound inspection processes and experience using equipment such as RF guns/scanners, Cubiscan dimensioning and weighing systems, and calipers.
Essential Functions:
- Supervised and coached Quality Control and Cycle Counters personnel
- Review Non-Conforming Report (NCR) for accuracy and forward to responsible Department Leader for disposition and corrective action.
- Review Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR) for accuracy and forward to supplier for disposition and response.
- Assist with investigating quality and inventory issues to determine the root cause and initiate corrective action when necessary.
- Liaise with Department Leaders to resolve issues.
- Report on inventory activities and variance.
- Oversee cycle count program and annual physical inventory.
- Assist with reviewing QA Hold report weekly and disposition of items.
- Assist in establishing systems and procedures as required to ensure continuous improvement by meeting company quality and inventory control goals.
- Assist with monitoring quality and inventory KPI’s.
- Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings.
- Assist with measuring products to ensure compliance.
- Assist with ensuring calibration of all gages and equipment.
- Organize and maintain record keeping, electronically as required.
- Cross train in the event of an absent QA Staff or Inventory Control team member.
- Complies with Hillman policies, procedures and safety rules.
- Support and follow the health and safety program.
- College Diploma or higher.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, be a self-starter and handle difficult reporting situations.
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
- Must be able to read drawings and Artwork.
- Strong Computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and
- Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Mobe would be an asset.
- 2 or more years in a Supervisory role in a Distribution or Manufacturing Environment.
- Highly motivated individual with a desire to advance in their role.
