Salary Range: $22.17 – $28.83 Hourly

This position is responsible for manual work as a member of a maintenance crew and involves heavy physical labor in the sewer collection and wastewater plants.

• Under direct supervision of the maintenance supervisor, repairs and maintains wastewater plant & pump station equipment
• Assists in semi-skilled work by handling tools, carrying or lifting, performing simple repairs or running errands
• Collects and disposes of debris, trash, etc. caused by job
• Maintains and repairs equipment and tools
• Helps to remove grease from sewer pumping stations
• Maintains the grass and grounds around the sewer pump stations
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• Knowledge of City and department policies and procedures
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations
• Knowledge of the material commonly used in construction, maintenance and repair activities as related to assigned areas
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety standards and practices applicable to work being conducted
• Skill in the operation, maintenance, and routine repair of equipment used in wastewater, some electrical knowledge is preferred
• Skill in performing various manual labor assignments as needed
• Ability to perform general maintenance duties
• Ability to perform general equipment/tool maintenance duties
• Ability to interpret instructions and efficiently carry them out with general supervision
• Ability to perform tasks involving heavy manual labor

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Valid State of Georgia Driver's License, 2-3 years of maintenance experience.
