Position OverviewLocated in Ville Platte, LA in the Lafayette Region Child Support Office in Evangeline Parish. This essential administrative position supports the core mission of DCFS. It provides clerical, programmatic, and administrative support functions for staff, applicants & clients of the Child Support Enforcement Office. - Assist Attorneys with case preparations.
- Work independently on assigned cases and prepare appropriate legal pleadings, obtain signatures on various forms, and document pertinent data.
- Attend court and assist attorneys, when requested.
- Assist the CSE Manager and CSE Supervisors with clerical support.
- Provide functional assistance to the clerical staff with budget preparations, human resources forms, vehicle maintenance, inventory and purchasing.
- Supervise Administrative Coordinators and provide assistance and/or guidance as needed.
- Serve as primary time administrator for payroll for the entire CSE office.
- Perform related duties as assigned for the smooth operation of the Department.
Appointment Type:
This position may be filled as a probationary appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probationary appointments. It may also be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, 3, or 4. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
CompensationThe actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.
Work ScheduleTypically, work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and are dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
