The Director of Student Activities will perform duties related to the operations of the Office of Student Activities. The Director will serve as a Campus Security Authority.
Duties/Responsibilities:Programming:
- Advise the Student Government Association (SGA), attend all regular and executive council meetings, and coordinate student elections
- Advise the Campus Activities Board (CAB) and attend all regular and executive council meetings
- Develop appropriate in-service leadership training for student leaders and prospective student leaders
- Collaborate with faculty members and staff to plan, organize and implement co-curricular programs that support the University’s common and program learning outcomes and contribute to the educational experience of its students
- Coordinate club and organization registration, leadership workshops, and various events around club and organization involvement
- Supervise and mentor the:
- Dance and Cheer Team coaches
- SGA Members
- CAB Members
- Club and Organizations
- Student Affairs Coordinator
- Responsible for all expenditures for the Student Activity budget pertaining to student programs and programming
- Supervise Academic Grant accounts
- Responsible for the production and distribution of the Student handbook/agenda
- Supervise printed promotional material for Student Activity events, including but not limited to activity calendars, posters, and publications
- Plan, coordinate, and implement the application process for the
- Blue/Gold Cord Awards
- Activity Key awards
- Pacemaker Paddle
- Assist with all START VU Programs
- Assist faculty and academic areas in the application process for academic grants
- Assist with Commencement activities
- Ability to successfully interact with a diverse student body and campus constituencies
- Higher Education work experience in Student Affairs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in the objective decision-making
- A Master’s degree, with minimum of two years of full time administrative/professional experience, in the preferred area of;
Student Affairs, Public Administration, or a related field, or, A Bachelor’s degree, with minimum of five years of full time administrative/professional experience, in the preferred area of;
