- Promotes high quality patient monitoring by engaging in observation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the telemetry equipment and patient‑specific alarm parameters.
- Contributes to a high performance work environment by using effective communication to the healthcare team utilizing the appropriate method for the appropriate situation.
- Provides for a clean and safe work environment.
- Assists with orientation of personnel in the operation of the monitoring system and telemetry units to ensure specific knowledge and skills needed to monitor in a safe manner.
- Logs/forms are kept accurate and report is given for a safe hand‑off of events of previous shift and anticipation of events for the upcoming shift.
Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Must successfully pass the GSH monitor tech training program, classroom preparation and 1:1 training. Must have a 100% passing rate on the basic rhythm recognition Monitor technician class. - Experience:
Previous experience with cardiac monitoring preferred, but will train on the job
