Staff Pharmacist

• Interpret and enter medication orders and prescriptions, assessing for indications, allergies, duplications, dosages, and interactions. Contacts prescriber on any problems and completes any required clinical documentation.
• Supervise and serve as a resource person for pharmacy staff, manage the Pharmacy in the absence of the Director, Pharmacy Staff Development Supervisor, and Clinical Coordinator.
• Provide drug information to health care professionals, patients, and the public
• Professional competency and clinical knowledge is demonstrated and maintained
• Works efficiently to make productive use of time and uses down periods for productive purposes
• Promotes cost effective use of medications
• Ensure the safe use of medications
• Documents interventions accurately and completely and follows up on unresolved interventions.

Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:

• Provide patient counseling when needed
• Demonstrates knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served
• Performs and completes other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Specifications:

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. or Pharm.
  
  D. degree. Must be licensed in the State of Indiana or eligible for licensure.
• Experience:
  
  Hospital experience is preferred but not required.
