Jones & Sons is looking to hire a Precast Concrete Production Manager at our Vincennes, IN location. Started in 1971, we are a family-owned and operated business with locations in Bloomfield, Clinton, Linton, Terre Haute, Vincennes, and Washington, IN. Our core activities include Ready Mixed Concrete, Block, Brick, Precast Concrete, and Aggregates servicing Southwest Indiana.

Position Summary:

Jones and Sons, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Precast Concrete Production Manager to oversee the daily operations of our precast concrete production facility. The successful candidate will ensure efficient and safe production processes, manage a team of approximately 6 employees, and contribute to the overall success of the company. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of precast concrete production.

Responsibilities:

  • Production Management:
    • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily production activities to meet production targets and deadlines.
    • Monitor and optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
    • Ensure adherence to quality control standards and specifications.
    • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
    • Maintain accurate production records and reports.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate a team of approximately 6 production employees.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities, and monitor employee performance.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and provide feedback.
  • Ensure all safety regulations are being followed.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
    • Lead and participate in safety training.
  • Inventory and Materials Management:
    • Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products.
    • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
    • Minimize material waste and optimize material usage.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment.
    • Schedule preventative maintenance and ensure equipment is in good working order.
    • Report and track equipment malfunctions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in precast concrete production (preferred).
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of production processes and quality control principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Experience with basic computer programs.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a production manager or supervisor in a precast concrete environment.
  • Formal training or certification in concrete technology or related field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Additional Information:

  • Full-time position
  • Starting pay depends on experience but minimum is $25/hour
