Position: Plant 2- Quality Control Technician

Quality Control Technician

Maintain the quality of all manufactured products from receiving to final inspection and testing.

Essential Duties:

  • Analyze specifications/contracts as they pertain to operations steps and product assembly.
  • Maintain necessary documentation related to quality policies, procedures and traceability.
  • Work with purchasing department in establishing quality requirements from external suppliers.
  • Responsible for second stage receiving inspection of raw materials.
  • Responsible for all aspects of first-piece, in-process and finished product inspection.
  • Oversee inspection criteria to assure only conforming product is shipped.
  • Perform periodic audits of quality system and address non-conformance areas.
  • Assure that quality problems are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Investigate quality problems and recommend changes or improvements.
  • Report quality problems to Floor Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager and Quality Assurance Manager as needed.
  • Promote an environment of open and honest, clear and consistent communication with Quality Assurance Manager and Manufacturing Manager.
  • All other duties deemed necessary.
  • Maybe required to frequently lift and move up to 75 pounds and if required lift over 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Additional hours if needed are mandatory.

    Requirements:

    Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's license with excellent driving record.
  • Possess ability to maintain flexible schedule to meet the demands of the department, i.e. overtime.
  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to listen to what is said and act upon it appropriately.
  • Ability to use tact and empathy in dealing with people of varied backgrounds.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment and plan and organize workload.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office product. (computer literate)
  • Accepts responsibility and demonstrates leadership.
  • Is able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Trustworthy
    - Able to keep business confidences as required.
  • Open minded
    - Willing to embrace change.

    Experience:

    High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in quality inspection preferred.
