Farbest Foods, Inc. Vincennes is hiring a full time 1st Shift Refrigeration Mechanic.
Benefits for this position include:
- Tool allowance ($250 after 90 days; $350 annually)
- Yearly training with a $0.50 per hour increase at completion
- $2.00 attendance bonus
- 8 hours PTO for every 90 days of perfect attendance
- $200 yearly allowance for boots
Operate and perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of plant ammonia refrigeration and utility systems. System responsibilities include, ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, steam, water, gas, facility and grounds, and compressed air systems.
Duties and Responsibilities- Operate, maintain and perform maintenance activities on ammonia refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of maintenance records.
- Observe system operations.
- Have a general understanding of electrical circuits.
- Engage in dismantling, assembling, and installing refrigeration equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Use all personal protective equipment provided by the company in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Adhere to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory and customer requirements.
- Work on gaining basic understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements, including SOPs, PHAs and MOCs.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Learn and adhere to sanitation, safety and security policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and
Qualification:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be fluent in verbal, reading and written skills of the English language.
- Basic computer skills required to operate equipment monitoring systems.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
