Plant Accountant

We are looking for a Plant Accountant to support core accounting operations at our manufacturing site in Vineland, New Jersey. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing period-end activities, and ensuring balance sheet accounts are properly supported. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a solid grasp of plant-related financial activity, and the ability to deliver reliable reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly close process for plant accounting activities, ensuring deadlines are met and financial results are recorded accurately.
• Prepare and post journal entries related to operational transactions, accruals, and other routine accounting adjustments.
• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, resolving discrepancies, and supporting accurate financial data.
• Perform account reconciliations on a regular basis and investigate outstanding items to ensure balances are complete and supportable.
• Complete bank reconciliations and address variances promptly to maintain accurate cash records.
• Support manufacturing cost accounting by analyzing production-related expenses, inventory movements, and cost allocations.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports for plant leadership and corporate stakeholders, highlighting key trends and variances.
• Partner with operations and finance teams to strengthen accounting controls and improve the accuracy of plant financial information.
