Adult Education Instructor

Requirements (Education, Experience, Certification, Knowledge, Skill):

Bachelor’s degree and prior experience in teaching academic skills/certification and/or 3 years of comparable work experience.

Position requires the ability to communicate effectively with staff, participants, volunteers and community members.

Complete reports.

Develop systems/procedures to meet the need of program.

Assess/Evaluate client’s skills throughout enrollment.

Must be able to assess students.

Interprets needs of clients through interview.

Determine which steps, methods and procedures among several prescribed options are required to fulfill an identified project program or management objective

Develop individual plans to meet needs of the student (Job Readiness, ABE/GED, and/or Computer Literacy).

Attend required meetings.

Must complete and submit required documentation i.e. itinerary, work plans case notes including student progress, in a neat and timely manner.

Complete Pre and Post-Test Assessments for all enrolled participants.

Recruitment and Enrollment of Pathways Out of Poverty Eligible Participants.

Conduct training for staff, volunteers and interns for adult education activities.

Ongoing outreach and promotion of the program to the community, and the private sector.

Required to work indoors and outdoors, with the possible exposure to individuals at a high risk of being infected with serious illness.

Must be flexible, required to work evenings hours and weekends when needed.

Position requires automobile, driver’s license and insurance.
