Unit Overview

The Emergency Department is a 70-bed, high-acuity, fast-paced unit providing care to both adult and pediatric populations. The department is equipped with critical care equipment including ventilators and BiPAP. Nurses must be confident managing critically ill patients and prioritizing care in a high-volume environment.

Auto offers available with less than 2 weeks RTO.

• BSN required
• Minimum three (3) years of recent Emergency Department experience
• Travel experience required (must have completed at least one contract assignment)
• High-volume/fast-paced ED experience strongly preferred

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Active New Jersey RN License or Compact License
• AHA BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• NIHSS
• 8 hours Stroke CEUs
• 8 hours Trauma CEUs

Important:

• Pending certifications are NOT accepted

• Certifications expiring within 30 days of submission are NOT accepted

Scheduling Requirements

• Weekend:
  Every other weekend or 3 weekends per month (based on unit needs)
• Holiday:
  None
• RTO:
  Maximum of 3 days accepted
• No block scheduling
• No special scheduling requests.

  First Day Instructions? /Orientation:

  Failure to complete the full orientation will result in immediate termination- once scheduled, candidate does not have the option of rescheduling any classes.

  Candidate will receive an email directly from client the Friday before the Monday start. The email will contain the following information;

• They will receive instructions for signing on to the Virtual Welcome meeting and online Health Stream Module from Human Resources sometime prior to 8:30 on Monday. Monday GEO will be Virtual from their own computer. The modules assigned must be completed by Monday or they will be removed from the orientation list.
• In person class schedule list- Typically Tues-Thurs- these classes are held in multiple locations. The location may not be listed in the original email, candidate is required to use Health Stream to determine class location day of. Please Note
  * The POCT class will required to attend and is not during orientation week.
• Unit based orientation schedule from manager.
• Badge - instructions on how to make an appointment t o receive their  in person. Photo submissions are not permitted. Must be complete during orientation. The Badge is required for clock ins.
