Job Description
The South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization (SJTPO) is seeking an experienced planning professional to lead its Safety & Complete Streets initiatives serving Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, and Salem Counties. This leadership position offers the opportunity to lead impactful regional safety and multimodal initiatives within a collaborative public‑sector environment. The Program Manager will work directly with the Executive Director and regional partners to shape transportation investments that improve safety, mobility, and quality of life across southern New Jersey.

- Transportation safety and Local Safety Program management
- Bicycle, pedestrian, and complete streets planning
- South Jersey Trails initiatives
- Consultant procurement and technical study oversight
- Regional coordination and project development
- Bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, public administration, or related field
- Minimum five (5) years of professional planning experience
- Demonstrated experience in project management
Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to analyze technical data and translate findings into policy recommendations
- Supervisory experience
- Experience with transportation safety analysis
- Knowledge of federal transportation funding programs
- Familiarity with GIS and data analysis tools
