SP Industries Inc. is expanding its team in Vineland, NJ and has an immediate opening for a Machine Operator – Grinder
.
This role involves preparing and processing scientific glass components by routing materials, setting up and operating grinding equipment, and using precision instruments to ensure quality. The position requires reading technical drawings, maintaining steady production, assisting with part supplies, and keeping a clean, safe work area while following all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Hours are Monday–Thursday on 1st Shift – 4/10s schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Routing material to specific departments for manufacturing
- Set up and operate equipment used to cut, grind, and polish scientific glass
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications written in English
- Use a variety of measuring instruments to ensure parts meet quality levels
- Execute sustained production in the grinding department
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Observe all precautions, rules and regulations related to environmental, health and safety matters (e.g., PPE, proper disposal of waste)
- Assist in managing the supply of replacement parts
- Understand and follow Bills of Materials and process routers
- Assist on special projects as required
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Prior experience with glass handling or machining a plus
- Ability to read blueprints
- Basic math and measuring skills
- Strong hand–eye coordination and attention to detail
- Proficiency in English reading and communication
- Computer literacy; ability to use company-specific systems
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- High School Diploma or GED required
Payrate: $16–$21.50 per hour
