The Count Room Attendant collects and counts cash boxes from the gaming floor and performs cash and ticket counts in the count room in accordance with company Internal Control Policies, Procedures, and state regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Collect gaming device drop boxes from HRM machines, kiosks, etc., while adhering to Internal Control Policies and local/state regulations.
- Record accurate counts of each box in the count system or sheet.
- Prepare and maintain proper paperwork to support and reconcile all money and tickets counted.
- Utilize count machines following company guidelines.
- Comply with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations while maintaining confidentiality where necessary.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance of Count Room equipment.
- Maintain general upkeep of the Count Room.
- Notify the supervisor of malfunctioning equipment.
- Assist other team members with moving and safeguarding the box cart.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Understand internal controls, regulations, policies, and procedures related to the finance department.
- Possess basic knowledge of Microsoft applications and the ability to learn count-room computer applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Virginia Racing Commission License.
- Work in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
- Frequently perform repetitive motions, manual dexterity tasks, hand-eye coordination, standing, bending, teamwork, basic math skills, use of a 10-key calculator, and currency counting.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
- Work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
- Work environment may vary in crowds, noise, and smoke levels.
