Trueline is seeking a Pipe & Utility Foreman to join their field team supporting infrastructure, site development, stormwater, and utility projects in the Lynchburg, Bedford, and Roanoke, VA region. This is a hands‑on leadership role for a working foreman who can run small crews, manage underground utility installation, and help build out a growing sitework division.
What You’ll Do as the Pipe & Utility Foreman:- Lead a 2-5 person field crew on active residential and commercial site development projects
- Oversee installation of stormwater systems, water lines, sewer lines, and underground utilities
- Read plans, specs, grades, and site drawings to guide daily field work
- Coordinate equipment, materials, crew activity, and jobsite workflow
- Operate or oversee heavy equipment including excavators and related sitework equipment
- Maintain safe, accurate, and efficient installation practices
- Use GPS or grade control tools, with Trimble experience a plus
- Communicate with project leadership to keep work moving on schedule
- 5+ years of underground utility, pipe, or sitework experience
- Prior foreman, lead, or crew leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of storm, water, sewer, and underground utility installation
- Ability to read and build from construction plans
- Experience managing small field crews
- Strong safety mindset and accountability in the field
- Ability to travel to projects within roughly a 2-3 hour radius of the Lynchburg, Bedford, and Roanoke area
- Trimble GPS experience
- DOT, VDOT, highway, or infrastructure project experience
- Background in residential or commercial site development
- Heavy equipment operating experience
- Experience helping a growing division standardize field processes
