Accounts Payable Clerk

Accounts Payable Clerk – Full Time – Virginia Beach, VA.

The Accounts Payable Clerk ensures accuracy and compliance of payments and invoicing. A significant portion of job functions are performed onsite.

• Perform administrative assignments such as scanning documentation and reviewing workflow.
• Physically sort and distribute the department’s incoming mail.
• Research returned checks and utility bills for payment or nonpayment.
• Monitor and respond to inquiries in the department’s email inbox and voicemail.
• Support staff to ensure timely processing of payments through various software systems.
• Review payments and backup for accuracy.
• Research vendor inquiries about payments and invoices.

• Education:
  
  High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum one year of general office experience; preferred minimum one year of accounts payable experience.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  
  Ability to work in a high transaction volume environment; knowledge of accounts payable policies/procedures and best practices; strong verbal and written communication skills; basic knowledge of Excel; good math skills; good time management and organizational skills; detail oriented and strong interpersonal skills; strong customer service focus; strong sense of teamwork and work ethic.
