Accounting Role Responsibilities

Handles daily accounting tasks such as journal entries, corrections, invoice processing and PO creation.

P&L reconciliation preparation with initial review of accounting vs budget differences.

Completes required filings for compliance with municipalities.

Assists with the creation of Purchase Orders, GL coding support and posting confirmations.

Prepares supporting schedules for audit & tax filings (quarterly and yearly).

Completes bank reconciliation preparation including review of aged outstanding checks.

Supports budgeting and forecasting efforts (agency and region) under supervision.

Assists with financial reporting and compliance by creating and analyzing system reports.

Posting of fixed assets, Lease Schedules and monthly depreciation.

General Intercompany postings versus other agencies.

Manual upload of Demurrage and Detention Revenue.

Manual Posting of Demurrage refund through commercial consideration.

Other General Accounting tasks.

Ad hoc requests.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Accounting from a four‑year college or university.
1 to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications.
Advanced proficiency in Excel is preferred.
Deadline Oriented;
Ability to efficiently plan and prioritize tasks based on urgency.
Intermediate proficiency in data analysis and interpretation of data trends.
