This role offers breadth that goes well beyond a traditional property accounting position. You will work across multiple legal entities with layered ownership structures, support real estate development and acquisition activity, and gain exposure to multi-entity corporate accounting.
The Runnymede Corporation is a commercial real estate development, investment, and management firm headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We own, develop, acquire, and manage a diverse portfolio that includes Class A office buildings, office/warehouse properties, and light industrial assets. Our accounting team works directly with leadership, operations, property management, and development personnel across multiple legal entities and states.
We are looking for a Staff Accountant who is genuinely curious about the work, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and holds themselves to the same standard whether the work is routine or high-visibility.
What You Will Do- Support multi-entity corporate accounting and financial reporting across assigned legal entities and related properties
- Prepare and post journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and produce monthly, quarterly, and annual close deliverables
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and tenant ledgers
- Prepare budget-to-actual variance analyses and support annual budgeting and forecasting
- Maintain fixed asset records, calculate CAM estimates, and complete annual CAM reconciliations
- Maintain vendor records in support of internal control requirements
- Prepare and maintain organized work papers for financial reviews, lender requests, and tax compliance
- Support development, acquisition, and redevelopment accounting activities as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 1 to 3 years of accounting experience; real estate or public accounting background preferred
- Strong Excel skills;
Yardi Voyager experience is a plus - Demonstrated ability to investigate issues independently and apply sound professional judgment
- Resourceful and self-directed; comfortable building and improving processes
- Receptive to feedback and committed to applying it
- Intellectually curious; wants to understand the business impact behind the numbers, not just complete the task
