The Accounts Receivable Analyst provides accounting services in the areas of receiving and processing cash items, petty cash and change funds. This role serves as a liaison between the department and the students and all 3rd party vendors.
Work Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Salary Range: $38,000 - $40,000
Essential duties:- Process student payments, collect money due and record to student accounts. Handle student account inquiries, provide customer service for student and other related inquiries
- Process and record accounts receivable payments
- Balance daily cash transactions and prepare bank deposits
- Verify and process interdepartmental deposits from all auxiliary units, cost centers and departments
- Maintain petty cash and change funds as assigned, verifying daily
- Maintain accounts receivable billing, returned checks, and installment payment files
- Process student tuition refund requests
- Serve as back-up for all 3rd party invoicing
- Perform collection account review and assist with collection placement with outside agencies
- Audit petty cash and change funds assigned to other university offices
- Reconcile various deposit accounts to General Ledger as assigned
- Minimum of high school diploma. Associates Degree in Business preferred
- Good composition and English skills, proficient in MS Office, calculator and other office machines
- Ability to follow through on a myriad of details daily
- Willingness to accept full responsibility for projects
- Ability work with minimal supervision
