WHLR is seeking to add a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive, professional, and client-oriented attitude about the company with coworkers, tenants, clients and the public whether contact is by email, telephone or in person.

SALARY RANGE: $55,000-$65,000. Benefits include paid life, short-, and long-term insurance, 401K with company match, as well as medical, dental, vision, pet, accident, and critical illness insurance plans. Job Description
  • Compile, process, and maintain accounts payable records.
  • Verify check request information for approval and accuracy.
  • Able to prepare and process checks for multiple properties and entities.
  • Print and obtain appropriate signatures on all account payable checks.
  • Distribute signed checks to vendors as required.
  • Correct workflow exceptions for invoices in accounts payable software.
  • Notify the Accounting Manager of needed updates to vendor files.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and respond to vendor inquiries.
  • Analyze and prepare reporting on accounts payable aging.
  • Prepare accrual and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Ability to process and follow-up on rush items.
  • Assist with check scanning and running daily bank reports.
  • Assist with sorting mail daily to pull vendor invoices/statements.
  • Periodically mail 1099s.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
Experience, Requirements and Core Competencies
  • Solid computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Avid and MRI or similar.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment preferably Real Estate.
  • Independent, self-motivated, with exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task several projects across multiple properties.
  • Detail-oriented person with excellent analytical skills.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience in related field preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years' experience working in the accounts payable function of an organization.
